Classic & Modern Coaches for Film, Television, Photoshoot and Media Hire

We welcome enquiries from companies that are looking for something different whether it be for film or television, photographic or media hire.

Our coaches have appeared in different film productions including:

The Courier – Starring Benedict Cumberbatch & Merab Ninidze

Brighton – Starring Larry Lamb & Lesley Sharp

Matilda the Musical – Starring Emma Thompson & Alisha Weir

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy – Starring Renée Zellweger, Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Chiwetel Ejiofor & Leo Woodall

Photoshoot bookings are also popular, with our vehicles being used for fashion shoots, promotional video and as location stills

Our staff are flexible and accommodating to the needs for this type of work and what might be needed to capture that ‘special take’ and can dress in period costume should this be required.

Our 1967 Bedford Plaxton coach is especially suitable for period productions from the start of the 1960’s into the 1990’s from when they were daily in operation.

Sadly, after days of filming, sometimes you can end up on the cutting room floor, but the main point is, we were part of them!

The Great Escaper – Starring Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson
For a split second, you can see MP 1066 parked by the beaches in one part of the film. We spent many days filming with various coaches around Camber Sands and Dover.

Dunkirk (1958 Film) – Starring John Mills, Bernard Miles, Robert Urquhart and a young Richard Attenborough.
Our first known film association was for a hire that took place daily in 1957 from Wellington Square in Hastings, to pick up ‘extras’ and some film crew, to take to location for a film being made that would be entitled ‘Dunkirk’.
It starred many household names of the time including John Mills, Bernard Miles, Robert Urquhart and a young Richard Attenborough.

Camber Sands was one of the main locations used due to the sandy beaches being similar to that of the beaches of Dunkirk in France, although other scenes were filmed in Rye and Brookland. A gentleman by the name of John Hunnisett confirmed years later, when booking trips with us, that he was one of the extras …

Grey Owl – Starring Pierce Brosnan and Annie Galipeau
Forwarding on to 1998 and the company received a call from ‘Beaver Productions’ asking about the possibility of transport for some film work taking place in the Hastings area. A yes, of course, was the answer and initially it was thought it would be to transport crew from a local hotel in town to location in Milward Road in Hastings. On the first day of collecting the crew a surprise passenger was the film’s Director, Richard Attenborough, who would travel daily to location. One day Stephen Dine collected him personally after dropping the crew off first. He was a genuinely charming and delightful man. We were used to transport the ‘rushes’ of film between takes back to the hotel to be checked and assessed in large metal tins, traditional style film work! It was a pleasure to meet the star of the film, Pierce Brosnan too, in the middle of his fame playing James Bond!
